Objectives
This work package will realise two types of dressed state potentials and assess their suitability for an integrated, guided matter wave interferometer. While TAAPs can generate very smooth potentials and, so far, require optical means for atomic beam splitting operations, polarisation controlled potentials offer a high degree of control and simpler, optics-free integration. However, the envisioned polarisation controlled interferometer scheme potentially suffers from strong corrugations introduced by permanent magnetic films and atom loading issues. We will compare the two approaches, identify possible combinations, and determine the optimal interferometer realisation.
