Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (www.bgu.ac.il) is a medium size university (about 20,000 students) with state of the art facilities (e.g. the centre for nano science and technology www.bgu.ac.il/iki). The atom chip group (www.bgu.ac.il/atomchip) taking part in this project exists for some 9 years now and has two running BEC machines and several additional experiments with solid state (colour centres in diamond), room temperature vapour and MOT cooled atoms.
